Midwest SOARRING Foundation is pleased to announce our 2018 scholarship offered to all students pursuing advanced degrees and trades in undergraduate or graduate education.
While tribal enrollment or native ancestry is not required, we are interested in applicants who can demonstrate their positive involvement in their community through Native American cultural activities and/or advancing Indigenous concerns.
The scholarship amount is $1,000 and will be announced on Sunday, September 23, 2018 at the Harvest Pow Wow. The Harvest Pow Wow takes place at the Naper Settlement, 523 Webster Street, Naperville, IL. The final decision to award the scholarship is at the discretion of the Midwest SOARRING Foundation Scholarship Committee.
Midwest SOARRING Foundation assists in repatriation, protection of sacred sites, environmental issues, and educating the public about Native American culture, important to our history and identity.
Interested applicants must fill out the Scholarship Application Form, obtain a letter of recommendation from a teacher/professor, employer, or community service director: submit a 500 word essay as detailed on the application form, and a recent copy of your school transcripts.
All scholarship applications must be postmarked by July 15, 2018. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
